What is the meaning behind your brand name?

It's all about trusting your Innersense.

How/why did you start your brand?

Innersense Organic Beauty is a love story between two seasoned beauty professionals who crossed paths and shared a passion for hair, beauty and life. It is our story.

Our dream was to create something bigger than ourselves. Larger than Joanne’s career as a stylist and platform artist; larger than Greg’s decades in “big beauty,” where his passion for product development and formulation began. Our conventional beauty experience behind the chair and behind the counter were merely the seeds for growth. Personally, professionally and emotionally.

This love story is also a story of family. Our brand was born and inspired by ours. Morgan, our first born daughter, was 22 months old when she was diagnosed with a rare genetic order, “Williams Syndrome”. As young parents, we struggled with not always knowing what to do or where to look for answers. We felt helpless, powerless and afraid. We wanted to raise our daughter in a healthy, mindful and loving environment, but during the darkest days of uncertainty, we struggled to find this in ourselves. It was the simple advice of our spiritual adviser that we clung to most, his words ultimately guiding us out of the darkness: “trust your inner sense.”

Our commitment to a cleaner, healthier lifestyle for our family paralleled an emerging trend in our beloved hair industry: Toxin-free beauty. We immersed ourselves in the study of green chemistry and sought answers as to why so many of our industry professional colleagues were being diagnosed with chronic diseases at higher rates when compared with professions in other industries. A new life journey began.
