R O E N Candle Company

We were able to chat with Brit Roennigke, founder of R O E N Candle Company a company of lovingly handcrafted candles. Read more about how she started the brand and her goals below!

What is the meaning behind your brand name?

It is a shortened version of my last name, Roennigke.

How/why did you start your brand?

I've always had a passion for fragrance and started creating my own candles about two years ago after having my second child. At first I would make them for friends and family and it organically grew from there.

What was your biggest obstacle with launching a brand?

There are so many unexpected obstacles when launching a business. One of the biggest hurdles was finding the right wick for my wax formulation. This seems like an easy task but was months of trial and error to get where it is today.

What motivates you to grow your brand?

I am constantly inspired and want to create new products all the time. I have to remind myself to take it slow and focus on the core business.

Any tips and tricks on using your products?

On your initial light, let the candle burn long enough so the melt pool reaches the edge of the jar. Wax has a memory and this will ensure it has an even burn for the life of the candle. ALWAYS trim your wick before re-lighting, this extends the life of the candle and ensures it isn't burning "too hot".
