The Good Hippie

We were able to chat with Emily McNabb, the founder behind the small-batch, natural, artisan line of skincare + beauty, handcrafted in Austin, Texas called The Good Hippie. Read more about how she started the brand and her goals below!

What is the meaning behind your brand name?

The Good Hippie name was representative of what we offer.

Using plants, oils, and nature to truly balance the body and mind. We wanted to get back to our roots and live with what the earth provided! We treat the mind and body wholistically and be good to ourselves and to our clients.

How/why did you start your brand?

We wanted to change the face of the beauty and cosmetic industry. Healthy, safe, wholistic products that treat the mind and body responsibly.

What was your biggest obstacle with launching a brand?

Increasing visibility of our brand

What motivates you to grow your brand?

Being a positive change in body care! Empowering women to start their own businesses. We always say that there is room for all of us! When we support the big brands that are killing us with chemicals and preservatives, we’re supporting the one percent. We want to encourage people to do what is right, do what is good, and to do YOU!

Any tips and tricks on using your products?

Keep water away from it! If it requires you so use water, make sure you don’t take it out of the container with wet hands. It is natural, and it will mold easily... or it will begin to sprout. ;)

Does your brand give back? How?

We are pairing up with non-profits and women organizations with our new product coming out very soon! We want to empower women, give them a voice, and encourage even more men to empower and respect women!

Anything else you'd like to add?

We begin our day in the studio with the Reiki Principles- “Just for today, I will not be angry, I will not worry, I will be grateful, I will do my work honestly, and I will be kind to every living thing!”
